Connecting neighbours through compassion, service, and understanding.

Welcome to the Woodlea Islamic Network (WIN) — a community-led initiative based in Woodlea/Aintree, Victoria.

WIN brings families, neighbours, and community partners together through service, learning, and cultural exchange. Our goal is to strengthen connections within our local community while contributing positively to the wider Melton region.

From youth-led initiatives to weekly community food support programs, WIN aims to foster kindness, generosity, and a sense of belonging for everyone in our neighbourhood.

Our Guiding Principle

“O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may come to know one another. Indeed, the most honoured of you in the sight of God is the most God-conscious (mindful of Him). Indeed, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”

(Qur’an 49:13)

At the Woodlea Islamic Network (WIN), we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone — regardless of race, religion, background, age, or gender.

Our programs are inspired by the universal values of Islam that promote compassion, dignity, and care for neighbours while encouraging understanding between people of different cultures and faiths.

“And Cooperate with one another in righteous and piety"

Chapter Al Mai'dah 5:2

Our Core Focus

At the heart of the Woodlea Islamic Network is a commitment to building a connected, compassionate, and empowered community. Our work centres around bringing people together, nurturing the next generation of leaders, and serving those in need with dignity and care.

Community Connection

We bring families and neighbours together through monthly gatherings, educational discussions, and cultural events that encourage learning, friendship, and community bonding.

Youth Leadership

Young people play an active role in our initiatives. Through youth-led activities and volunteer programs, we encourage children and young adults to develop leadership skills and contribute positively to society.

Service to Community

Service is central to our mission. Through initiatives like the Neighbourly Table, we support people experiencing hardship and promote a culture of compassion within our community.

”I had the privilege of joining the Woodlea Islamic Network to mentor local youth on the power of cultural diversity. To me, the beauty of our community lies in the rich tapestry of cultures and beliefs we share—each thread adding colour, strength, and connection to the fabric of Woodlea. Empowering the next generation to lead with these values was a truly rewarding experience."

Community Development & Partnerships Manager

Our partnership between the Melton Chinese Friendship Association and the Woodlea Islamic Network brought together around 120 members from both communities. Through cultural sharing, language exchange, Tai Chi, Quran recitation, storytelling, food experiences, and traditional music and dance, our members learned from one another in a warm and respectful environment. This collaboration helped break down barriers, deepen understanding, and build genuine friendships. We received very positive feedback from participants, and it has been a truly meaningful experience working together with the Islamic Network. This partnership has made our community stronger and more connected.

I recently volunteered with WIN, and it was such a meaningful experience. It was really fulfilling to be able to connect with people in the community face to face and help hand out food to those who need it most. There's something very powerful about being able to support others in such a direct way. You could really see the impact it has on families and how much it means to them. The work WIN does is truly incredible, and it plays such an important role in supporting our community. I'm really grateful to have been part of it.
